Working across sculptural installation, sound, and performance, Star Feliz (b. 1992, New York, NY) constructs speculative ceremonial infrastructures merging Afro-Taíno symbolism, industrial materials, sonic frequencies, and digital communication technologies. Through concrete, sediment, ethernet cords, botanical pigments, and hypnotic sound and video, Feliz investigates mineral extraction, non-normative perception, and alternative systems of transmission that persist beyond dominant structures of knowledge. They are the founder of Botánica Cimarrón – an interdisciplinary cultural production studio exploring Afro-Indigenous ways of knowing through plants, sound, art, and ritual.
